Artmageddon 2026
For 2026’s Artmageddon art festival in Brooklyn, Sparrowfart is debuting We Walked Together For A Time, an interactive music/visual installation piece by Desmond White. A meditation on loss and disconnection, the fragmentation of our attention spans, and our increasing need for a return to in-person contact. The work consists of a 70-minute piece of music being streamed to multiple rooms, with various musical and visual interaction points for visitors. Incorporating elements of photography and realtime AI image generation, the piece is set against the backdrop of a dimly lit cafe. An overdose of screens offer contorted versions of the viewer. Today’s version of a coffee shop is the petri dish of social disconnection. Add 30 happy cells to 4 social media platforms. What was previously a forum for socialization and discussion is now a headphones-in, no-eye-contact, laptops-out, dead-silence, bad-music, mostly-to-go etc etc.
